doers eagerly listen to gossip; liars pay close attention to slander." (Proverbs 17:1-4, NLT). Friend, let's not only watch what we say but also what we hear. Walk away from gossip, which, has been described somewhere as perhaps the "most widespread and worst epidemic" the world over!
Lord, help me to watch what I say and what I hear. Forgive my participation in unsavoury and ungodly talk, speaking words that hurt. Help me to tame my tongue and to tune my hears not to entertain gossip, slander, and malice.
